Sometimes things happen for a reason. One of our volunteers went to a shelter to pick up a dog at the request of a different rescue group. When she arrived the dog was being adopted! Unfortunately it is not unusual to find purebred shepherds in the shelter and our volunteer was told that another dog was just being brought in that she might want to look at. Riley was amazing! He is a BIG black and tan boy with a plush coat. He gives the best kisses and is good with other dogs. He is so gentle that he just sat and let one of our volunteers cut his nails. The animal control officer who picked him up was thrilled that Riley would not have to go into the shelter. His previous owner had become ill and could no longer care for him. Not knowing about our organization, he called Animal Control to come and pick up the dog. This guy has been loved and well cared for. Riley generally has good manners but can be very powerful on the leash when he wants to inspect something. All he needs is a little refresher training and has already shown progress with our volunteers. He is the type of dog that will stop traffic and gain you tons of compliments!
Riley is at our Burbank facility. If you are interested in meeting him, please fill out the online application.
