One of our volunteers was sent to the East Valley Animal Shelter for a dog that had already been adopted. As our volunteer was leaving she noticed this beautiful shepherd in the corner of a kennel. Upon examining him it was obvious that (1) he was extremely emaciated and (2) he had been the loser of a dog fight. He had open sores on his ears and legs. He was in a kennel with another dog and seemed to get along well with him so it does not appear that he was the aggressor in the fight. Thankfully we had room for this boy and brought him in to the rescue. He is a gorgeous, black and tan shepherd. When he fills out he should be approximately 120 lbs. After a couple of days of rest his true personality came out. He is so sweet and affectionate. He is a little goofy on the leash and doesn't know if he wants to pull you or push up against you for hugs. He loves to roll on the grass and lie across your legs. He loves going for rides and is good in the car. With a little training he is going to be magnificent!
