Westin

Westin is a sweet little boy, only 8 months old, who was found abandoned on the side of the road, completely emaciated and unable to walk. We rushed him to our vet, where we discovered he weighed only 20 pounds! After a thorough check-up and several days of intensive care in the hospital, it was decided that Westin was without a doubt a case of starvation. We believe he was dumped or jumped out of a truck in a wilderness area and somehow managed to stumble to the place where he was discovered by a good Samaratan. To see a puppy in such horrible condition made even our most seasoned volunteers cry and grow angry that someone could let this happen to such an innocent creature.

With proper nutrition, Westin managed to gain 16 pounds in 3 short weeks, and he continues to eat his way to good health. He is recovering from an upper respiratory infection, but his appetite is strong! Westin is a calm boy for his age, and extremely eager to please. He already knows how to sit and does so quite happily. He loves everyone he comes in contact with, including other dogs, cats, and kids, and his story of survival is an inspiration to all of us. This pup's will to live overcame his fatigue and dehydration and thankfully, he is safely in our care now.

Westin is in boarding. To arrange to meet him, please contact Mdalescomm@aol.com and complete the online application to expedite the adoption process.
