Keifer

Meet Keifer, an 18 month old Shepherd Boy. Keifer is your classic black and tan beauty with a playful, puppish nature. When he fills out we estimate him to be about 80 pounds. We're assuming he gets along with other dogs both male and female since he was in a run with other dogs at the Shelter.
He is brand new and we haven't had a chance to interact with him yet. Keifer has been in isolation due to kennel cough which is common for dogs who come out of shelters. We can't wait for him to get well so he can find his forever home.
Even though we see this every day it never ceases to amaze even the seasoned volunteers when we're faced with the decision to take in a dog that will be euthanized within the hour. What a huge decision that is placed on the volunteers. Knowing we don't have the means or the room, do we walk away from this young dog who can't speak for himself? Well, this boy was lucky because the volunteer took a chance and decided she could not leave him behind to die. This is yet another case of a wonderful young Shepherd who has to rely on someone to save him.
Keifer was in a high kill shelter in an area that has huge overpopulation problems and lots of breeders. Dogs are treated like trash and tossed away.
If you would like to make a donation to help cover the expense of giving Keifer the shot at life that this guy deserves, please click here and let us know your donation is for
Keifer . Keifer and his faithful volunteers thank you for helping to prevent these wonderful creatures from being destroyed. (Please spay or neuter your pets!)
If you have room in your heart and a place in your home for the next 10 to 15 years to allow this sweet boy to reach his full potential, please contact Debbie at johnandebhancock@aol.com and complete the online application, indicating you are interested in learning more about
Keifer.
