German Shepherd Rescue of Los Angeles

Meet Joe Black. At only 1 year old, this boy has had some hard life experiences. While rescuing another dog from its fate, one of our volunteers learned it was this boy's last day, and could not leave him behind. He is so handsome and full of energy, it is a wonder how a gorgeous dog like this can be found alone on the streets at such a young age.

Still a puppy, Joe is bursting with love and energy. Like all German Shepherd puppies, he is bright, curious, and clownish. We are just getting to know him, and are learning more about his personality. He does know some commands, like "sit", "stay" and "shake". Joe's a little rusty though, and would definitely benefit from obedience training.

Unfortunately, when we picked Joe up from the shelter, he had just come down with the "doggie sniffles," so he is now being treated by one of our vets. He should recover fairly quickly, and will soon be ready for adoption.

Please think carefully before you consider adopting this beautiful boy. Do you have the time and energy to commit to daily vigorous exercise and training to channel his intelligence and energy?
