Some dogs are purbred German Shepherds at heart if not 100% in
genetics. Abigail is a darling 4 year old black and tan female. She
was rescued from an animal shelter after she injured herself on a
fence. The shelter employees know our rule about only taking in
purebred shepherds but they told such tales of this sweet girl that is
mostly shepherd we knew we at least had to meet her. When
Grace, our founder, went over to Abigail's cage she put her paw out
for Grace to hold. Abigail does know how to make people fall in love
with her! She has such a loving and sweet face that we knew this girl
had to be saved. She is somewhat smaller and more compact than a
typical shepherd and her hair is shorter and doesn't seem to shed
quite as much.
She is VERY sweet and friendly. Her nickname at the rescue is The
Happiest Girl Around! She is very loving and her whole body shakes
with anticipation when someone comes to give her attention. Abigail
is easy to walk and LOVES to roll in the grass and then flop down next
to you. She gives tons of kisses -- some of her initial kisses are
very enthusiastic but she calms down quickly. She makes the
volunteers laugh all the time with her antics to get attention.
She'll jump up and down as if she is saying, "Hey, look at me!" She
tries very hard to be just like the other shepherds. She'll quietly
rub her face on you to get your attention. She is good with other dogs
but her enthusiasm does tend to annoy some dogs. She would chase a
cat so Abigail is looking for a dog-only home.
Abigail was rescued from a
shelter on her last day.
Abigail is at our rescue facility in
Burbank. If you are interested in meeting her, please click
