Elwood

This big boy is Elwood, a 2 year old black and red male with an expressive face. We think that Elwood is mostly German Shepherd, but he might have a little something extra as demonstrated by his soft ears. Elwood has not had it great in his short life so he is eager to find someone to show him how to relax and feel loved. He is currently around 60 pounds but his frame and his huge head tell us that he should weigh more like 90 pounds once he gains some much needed weight and muscle. Elwood is going to be a strong and powerful dog, so we suggest an experienced shepherd owner for him. He is very good with female dogs his own size but he's not too fond of other male dogs that "get in his face". Something just tells us that cats are not something that Elwood wants to share space with, but we could be wrong. Elwood enjoys a good head scratch and belly rub and he would sit in your lap if you let him!
Elwood was one of three dogs rescued from a very crowded Southern California shelter on one particular day. Our volunteer was there to rescue another dog when she saw Elwood's big, brown pleading eyes staring out from another cage. Although we are currently overflowing with dogs in our care, our volunteer knew that to leave Elwood behind would be his death sentence so she packed him up along with the other dogs who were rescued that day. These three dogs were the lucky ones who had their lives spared thanks to YOUR generous donations. Please help us save more dogs like Elwood with a donation by clicking here.
Elwood is in boarding. To arrange to meet him, please email Mdalescomm@aol.com or call 714-773-5915.
