Wink is a
special two year old black-and-tan male with something else thrown
in for good measure. We saw Wink at a crowded animal shelter
making friends with everyone who passed by. When we inquired about
him, we learned that he was on the euthanasia list because one of
his eyes was punctured while on the losing end of a kennel fight.
Naturally, we could not turn our backs on Wink just because he was
"unique" so we scooped him up and took him in. We were told by a
veterinary eye specialist that his injuries were too far along to
save the eye, so in March his eye was removed.
Wink gets
along beautifully with his new “makeover.” With his surgery scars
now healed, he has adjusted well in a foster home. He is truly a
puppy at heart and enjoys the company of other dogs of any size or
shape. In addition, he gets along happily with cats, small
animals, and adores children of all ages. This youngster rides
like a refined gentleman in the car and loves to go on runs with
his foster parents.
Wink has
passed basic obedience classes and is currently in the process of
being house broken. In addition, he has begun training with hand
signals and is crate trained. Wink’s “handicap” has not slowed him
down and is a very well adjusted dog. He is now looking for his
forever home with someone who’ll be able to look past his
disadvantage and see the wonderful, loyal companion behind it.
Wink is
currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting him,
