This doe-eyed, feminine beauty has been
christened Prada for her fashionable coat and demure personality!
Prada, a 7 year old charmer, was dumped by her owner when their
landlord threatened to evict them. Rather than search for an
alternative for this loyal companion, she was taken to a cold
county shelter. We rescued Prada on her last day -- as she left
the shelter, her tail was wagging and her head was held high!
We are just getting to know our sweet
fashion maven, but she rode in the volunteer's car with the best
manners along with another dog who was quite a bit more vocal -
she never turned a hair. Prada is currently with our veterinarian
being spayed and given a clean bill of health - she could stand to
gain a few pounds. Prada appears to be just fine with other dogs.
February
25, 2004:
In spaying Prada, we
discovered that she was pregnant with only one puppy in her belly
that was unusually huge. Unfortunately, the pup did not make it. Prada is now in a foster home fully recovered and loving every bit
of her new life. She is very well mannered, gentle and absolutely
sweeter than cotton candy. We’ve discovered that when it’s time
for her meals, she loves to have “company” while dinning. She
also enjoys watching the Animal Planet, however when an Animal
Shelter was shown she growled and started to bark at the TV.
Prada is happiest when
she is at home with her family.
She has an exceptionally sweet disposition and is very kind and
loving. The love that she
demonstrates will fill up any room size. She is a little shy when
you first meet her, although after the first few minutes she warms
up to you in a flash. The first thing she does is extend her
forehead and then her paw. This is her signal that she would
welcome any affection you would like to give her. Prada is a 110%
proof love bug and is truly warmhearted.
The first few days we’ve
had Prada, we realized that she is a little unsure of tile
flooring. She will only walk on tile if you put her leash on, she
feels secure this way. Little by little as she builds her overall
self confidence she starts peeking out of the bedroom and makes
baby steps onto the tile floor. She is excellent on a leash and
is great on recall. Of all the dogs we’ve fostered Prada is
probably the sweetest dog we’ve ever had the opportunity to care
for. She’s got a gorgeous coat and she has the most beautiful
eyes filled with warmth and love. All she wants in life is to be
loved the way she loves you.
Prada will do well in a
quiet home, preferably with people that work from home. She
weighs about 65 pounds.
