Miss MacKenzie will make you
smile! This beautiful 3 year old black and tan girl has a
sweet nature about her. Even though she
was eager to get out of the scary animal shelter, MacKenzie walked
briskly but politely out with her rescuer. She rides nicely
in the car and loves affection.
MacKenzie has just arrived so we are getting to know her better.
She is an average sized female shepherd, probably weighing around
65 pounds. She is sure to pick up some weight and muscle
when she gets into her forever family and settles into a secure
environment.
It's obvious that MacKenzie had puppies
fairly recently, but soon her girlish figure will return.
All too often we find young dogs who recently had a litter in
shelters because their owners used them for breeding and then
tossed them away. We suspect that this is the case with
MacKenzie because she certainly wouldn't have just wandered off
and left her puppies to fend for themselves.
MacKenzie was rescued from a crowded
animal shelter. She had been picked up as a stray without
any identification. She waited weeks and weeks for her owner
to reclaim her, but no one ever came for her. No one except
German Shepherd Rescue, who recognized her for the treasure that
she is.

MacKenzie is enrolled in a basic obedience class and doing very
well! We have learned that she is silly and happy, not the
reserved lady that we originally thought she was! MacKenzie
is working on keeping her enthusiasm for life contained: We are
teaching her not to jump up on people just because she wants to
say hello! MacKenzie is wonderful with children but would be
too energetic for toddlers, so we are seeking a family with
children age 5 and over.
MacKenzie is in boarding. If you would
like to meet her, please
