Klaus is a big, handsome black and red male.
He is around 7-8 years old. He is very sweet and gentle, and
he loves attention. He is friendly with people that he
meets, and he takes treats very gently from your hand. He
walks nicely on leash and has an easy-going temperament.
Klaus is so handsome that he stops traffic when he walks by.
Klaus is the perfect example of a "German Shepherd Gentleman"!
He has won the hearts and admiration from all of the volunteers
who have had the pleasure of his company.
Klaus loves to play with toys, and almost always has a toy in his
mouth (we're surprised that he doesn't have one in these photos).
He is great with other non-aggressive dogs, and would probably do
best in a home with other dogs. He loves to have company,
and he would enjoy a home where he is not left alone for long
hours. He is housebroken, and loves to just sit at your
feet. His favorite is to lay on something soft and cushy.
He likes to have cottage cheese on his food.
Klaus has some minor difficulty walking due
to a spinal problem that we commonly see in German Shepherds over
the age of 5 years. With a special diet of cooked chicken
and brown rice, regular (light to moderate) exercise, and a
regimen of medication, he will have many happy years ahead of him.
We would love to put him into a quiet foster home where he can
spend his time in a safe, warm, and loving environment. The
rescue will provide for his approved medical needs. If you
are interested in fostering this sweet boy, please contact us.
Klaus was rescued from an animal shelter on
his last day.
