This big boy is a sweetheart that
we have named Bubba, because he is a big, lovable, goofy 'Bubba'
kind of boy...
German Shepherd Rescue received a
call from a local animal shelter about a very special dog who was
out of time. In fact, he was actually about to get the "go to
sleep" needle when a shelter worker watched him wag his tail and
kiss the hand of his about-to-be- executioner. At that point, we
got a call from the shelter begging us to save this sweet and
loving boy.
Our volunteer dropped everything
and was on her way... When she arrived at the shelter, she found
one of the most loving and well tempered dogs she had ever seen.
When she approached the cage where he was waiting with two other
male dogs, it became evident that he is a total sweetie-pie!!!
This big burly German Shepherd is a big love bug. Most
times, dogs in the shelter will try to block the other dogs from
the person visiting. Bubba was running and nudging his roommates
as if the say "Come on, she's looking at us!!! Get up here
and smile". He's such a good natured boy.
Bubba is a VERY impressive boy.
He is HUGE!!! When going for a walk, people step off the curb to
go around him. What they don't understand is Bubba is a TOTAL
LOVER BOY!!! He will be about 120 pounds when he gains some much
needed weight. While he will protect his people, he has an
excellent temperament. He is good with other dogs and ADORES
people of all sizes. He made fast friends with two boys, ages 4
and 6. Bubba will make some family very happy.
Bubba is approximately 18 to 24
months old. He is HUGE so we thought he was a little older.
After being examined by our Vet, we discovered he is younger than
we thought. Poor Bubba was most likely kept chained in a filthy
yard, because part of his ears have been eaten away by flies.
Whatever pain and neglect he has suffered at the hands of humans
has not damped his spirit or his love for people. He loves to
give you his paw and he's also a "talker". He will take a much
coveted treat from you as gentle as a lamb.
Bubba is a perfect gentleman on
leash and keeps a close eye on his people. He greets everyone
(human and fur-friends) with a wag of his tail and a friendly
kiss. Bubba is good with kids, dogs (both large and small), and
with his gentle disposition we think he would also be just fine
with cats. If you are looking for an all-around wonderful
boy, Bubba's the one!!!
Bubba is in boarding. If
