Poor Beth has had a rough time
adjusting to homelessness! When our volunteer first spotted
her, she was trembling at the back of a cage in a crowded animal
shelter with her ears completely horizontal. She was
extremely frightened by all the noise and coldness of the shelter
and cowered even when she was gently coaxed from her holding
"cell". At age 5, Beth appears to have been well cared for
and is actually a little on the portly side. She was clearly
accustomed to being someone's very special girl, but somehow she
ended up as a stray without ID.
On top of being traumatized by her shelter
experience, Beth picked up a nasty case of the sniffles and is
being treated for this with antibiotics. She is quiet and
shy and would like nothing better than to be held on your lap like
a big (60 plus pound) baby. Beth needs a kind family or
person that understands the sensitive nature of German Shepherds.
We think that she would be wonderful with children based on her
gentle nature.
Beth is in a boarding kennel.
